Mayfair Removal Company is committed to conducting all removals and associated services in a manner that safeguards the health, safety and welfare of our employees, clients, contractors and members of the public. This policy sets out our approach to managing health and safety risks across all removal operations, including packing, loading, transport, unloading and on-site handling.

Policy Statement and Objectives

Our objective is to prevent injury, ill health, property damage and environmental incidents arising from our activities. We aim to provide and maintain safe working conditions, equipment and systems of work, and to promote a positive safety culture throughout the company.

Legal Duties and Responsibilities

Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work

Before any removal job is undertaken, appropriate risk assessments will be carried out to identify potential hazards associated with access, manual handling, traffic movement, use of equipment, working at height, and any specific risks presented by the property or items to be moved.

Vehicles, Driving and Transport Safety

Work Equipment, Personal Protective Equipment and Housekeeping

All work equipment supplied by Mayfair Removal Company will be suitable for its intended use, maintained in good repair and inspected at appropriate intervals. Faulty equipment will be taken out of service immediately.

Where risks cannot be eliminated by other means, appropriate personal protective equipment will be provided and used, such as safety footwear, gloves or high-visibility garments, depending on the task and environment. Staff must use this equipment as instructed and report any defects or issues.

Good housekeeping will be maintained in vehicles, storage areas and on job sites to reduce the risk of trips, slips and falls. Waste materials and packaging will be managed and disposed of appropriately.
